Drawing to Component

Whether you have only a rough sketch with basic measurements or a complete engineering drawing, we can transform this into highly accurate 3D CAD (Computer-Aided Design) models. These models are versatile tools, enabling 3D printing, CNC machining or the production of patterns for casting.

For this service we require a clear digital copy of your drawing to work from. If it is an engineering drawing but lacks full dimensions, we may need access to the original in order to take measurements

We’d love to hear about your project — please get in touch and let’s explore how we can bring it to life.

Component to Component

For components requiring replicating, modifying, or repairing, we use 3D scanning to capture your part in detail, rebuild areas lost to wear, and mend damage. The result is a precise 3D CAD (Computer-Aided Design) model that preserves the integrity of the original. These models are versatile tools, enabling 3D printing, CNC machining or the production of patterns for high-quality casting.

Recommended object size: 0.1 - 3.0 m (0.3-10ft)

Accuracy: up to 0.050mm (2 thou)

For this service we require access to the component. We have facilities to take deliveries large or small, or, we can come to you as our set up is fully portable. We can run of your mains power, or our generator. The scanner prefers to work away from direct sunlight as it uses white light beams to record data. Access to facilities inside is preferred, however, we can erect a tent over the item if it is outside.

On top of scanning your component, we will also record plenty of manual measurements and use a combination of the scan and measurements to reconstruct your component.

Drawing or Component to 3D Model

We offer both of the above services with the flexibility to stop at the creation of the 3D CAD (Computer-Aided Design) model. For many clients, the model itself serves as a valuable final output — providing accurate digital documentation, enabling further design development, or allowing you to manage the manufacturing stage independently.

Cost Reduction

For certain components, we can provide a cost-sharing arrangement designed to make your project more affordable. By producing multiple copies of your part, we are able to retail these additional units, lowering the piece cost and allowing us to absorb some of the reverse engineering fees.
